In a relatively short time, Czechia Dealroom has become one of the most important tools for mapping and showcasing the Czech innovation ecosystem. The platform was launched by CzechInvest in cooperation with its partners to provide Czech startups, technology companies and research institutions with a single place where they can gain visibility and be easily discovered by investors, corporations and international partners.
Czechia Dealroom offers a comprehensive overview of more than 1,700 funded Czech startups, regardless of their stage of development, and over 650 investors, creating the most extensive digital map of Czech innovation to date. The platform enables users to track the development of individual companies, their funding history, growth trajectories and international expansion. At the same time, it provides insight into the overall performance of the Czech startup ecosystem according to international standards, making it possible to benchmark it against other countries.
Czechia Dealroom also provides a macro-level view of the Czech innovation ecosystem. According to Dealroom data, the combined value of Czech startups has reached approximately USD 18.1 billion, with the ecosystem growing more than sevenfold since 2015. Prague has established itself as the dominant hub with a value exceeding USD 13.8 billion, while Brno holds the position of the country’s second most significant innovation centre. The Czech Republic is home to four unicorns — Rohlik, Productboard, Mews and the globally recognised cybersecurity leaders AVG and Avast (now part of Gen Digital). In addition, the country currently hosts 37 scale-ups with a realistic potential to become unicorns, meaning companies with valuations ranging from USD 100 million to USD 999 million.
The platform also highlights the ability of Czech startups to attract investment. In 2024 alone, they raised more than CZK 6 billion (USD 370 million), with investors showing the strongest interest in sectors such as fintech, enterprise software, artificial intelligence and others. These figures are more than just statistics; they serve as a strong signal for international investors, enabling them to quickly identify promising companies and emerging trends within the Czech market.
Czechia Dealroom is far more than a static database. Its functionalities actively help investors and partners navigate the rapidly evolving Czech innovation ecosystem. The Hot Startups section allows users to instantly identify Czech startups with the highest growth potential, providing investors with a quick and efficient way to discover the most promising players in the market. Equally important is the section dedicated to CzechInvest-supported startups, where visitors can explore innovative companies backed through programmes such as ESA BIC Czech Republic, the Technology Incubation Programme and Acceleration. CzechInvest not only supports these startups through its initiatives but also promotes them internationally through Czechia Dealroom, helping them gain visibility on the global stage. Another notable feature is the Spinoffs section, which brings together promising startups emerging from universities and research institutions – projects built on strong scientific foundations and significant innovation pote tial.
To ensure the broadest possible coverage of the Czech startup landscape, Czechia Dealroom has recently partnered with Ynovate, a network of innovation centres across the Czech Republic. This partnership adds valuable regional reach, helping to ensure that promising startups from outside the country’s main innovation hubs are also represented on the platform. In addition, Czechia Dealroom now features a News section, allowing users to follow the latest developments in the startup world with a particular focus on Czech startups. This new feature transforms Czechia Dealroom from a database into a living information hub for anyone interested in staying up to date with developments across the Czech innovation ecosystem.
